NEWS FROM RLI DAY: AWARDS AND LEADERSHIP INDUCTION LUNCHEON


On November 10, 2011, more than 50 members of the REALTORS® Land Institute (RLI), an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors®, convened for the Awards and Leadership Induction Luncheon at RLI Day in conjunction with the NAR Annual Conference and Expo.


Rick Taylor, ALC, of McComb, Mississippi and Kirk Goble, ALC, of Greeley, Colorado received the 2011 Excellence in Instruction Awards.  Taylor is recognized for his commitment to education and authoring the new Timberland course for the Institute.  Goble is recognized as a creative and steadfast contributor to the LANDU education program as an instructor, author, and chapter leader.  


The Texas RLI Chapter was presented the 2011 Outstanding RLI Chapter Award.  This award is presented each year to the chapter that shows a commitment to education, building strong partnerships, and dedication to meeting members’ needs.
Bob Turner, ALC of Memphis, Tennessee, was named the 2011 Land REALTOR® of America.  Each year the Institute recognizes a member for their effort and work expended in the interest of their fellow Institute members, their profession, and their community.   Fellow member, Randy Hertz, ALC, states , “Turner’s commitment to the promotion of high ethical standards and professionalism, as well as his long-term leadership and service on behalf of RLI and the public, exemplify the type of role model for which this award is intended.”


Randy Hertz, ALC, of Nevada, Iowa was recognized as the 2011 Robert C. Meeks Distinguished Service Award. This award is presented to an ALC in recognition of long-term commitment and service to fellow-Institute members, the land profession, and the community.  Kyle Hansen, ALC, states, “He is deserving, not just on a national level but, also on a local level. His dedication to the land profession is beyond anyone I’ve seen”.


The luncheon concluded with the installation of the 2012 executive committee, Charles Wingert, ALC, of Mankato, Minnesota and George Clift, ALC, of Amarillo, Texas were inducted as the 2012 President-Elect and Vice President of RLI.    Ray Brownfield, ALC, of Oswego, Illinois was inducted as the 2012 RLI National President.  A reception was held following the Awards and Leadership Induction Luncheon.
