Member Ambassador Program

Introducing the RLI Member Ambassador Program! 
Our goal is to be bigger and better in the New Year! When membership grows, so does the strength of the organization. That is why we are asking for help from our wonderful members. 

How to Recruit
As an Ambassador, all we ask is for you to share information about the benefits of the REALTORS® Land Institute and the value of the prestigious Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation with your peers and colleagues. Use our Ambassador Tools to help reach out to prospects.  You may want to personalize them and follow up with a phone call or a face-to-face meeting.

Prizes and Recognition
Each time an RLI Ambassador recruits a member, his/her name will go into a quarterly prize drawing. Each quarter RLI will randomly select an Ambassador who will receive a $100 gift card. RLI Ambassadors who recruit five or more members by March 25th will receive a complimentary registration to Colorado Rocks 2012 National Land Conference! (Registration does not include travel or housing costs.)

Rules and Eligibility
New members can apply for RLI membership online, mail-in an application, or call 800-441-LAND (5263) to speak to a staff member.  When the prospective member applies, make sure the Ambassador’s name is filled in the “referred by” portion of the application. After processing, the referring Ambassador will receive a confirmation that they will be entered into the drawing. Ambassadors are not limited in how many new members they may recruit.

Anyone can become an RLI Ambassador!
How do I know if my friend or colleague is already a member?
Go to the “Find a Land Consultant” tab and search the directory to verify if your associate is an RLI member. You may also call 800-441-5263 to verify with a staff member, we are happy to help!
What if the member I recruit was previously an RLI member?
As long as the person is not a current RLI member, they can be recruited.
What if the person I recruit forgets to put my name in the “referred by” space on the membership application?
No problem. Ask the referred member to contact RLI National within one week of submitting an application to credit an Ambassador for his or her referral.

Frequently Asked Questions about Membership
Prepare yourself to answer the following questions to the prospects you contact, as these are commonly asked.

What are the dues?
The annual dues fee is $395.  When you apply, there is a one-time application fee of $75.

What is a candidate? 
When you join RLI, you become an Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) candidate.  Candidates may earn the prestigious ALC designation.

Must I belong to a local Chapter and National?
If you would like to be a member of a local RLI Chapter, you must be a member of RLI National.  Chapter membership is optional.

Do I have to join NAR?
RLI is an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors®.  If you are not a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, you would become an affiliate member which is an additional $75 a year.  If you are an affiliate member of NAR through another organization, you would not have to pay the $75 a year through RLI.

Do I have to belong to a multiple listing service?
This is an individual choice.  Members do not have to belong to a multiple listing service.
