On September 18, 2009, Ray Brownfield, ALC, was elected 2010 vice president of the REALTORS Land Institute.
"We were fortunate enough to have two highly qualified individuals in Lou Jewell and Ray Brownfield. They both have lots of experience and are very involved in the RLI organization,” said Keith Morris, ALC, 2009 national president. “I also want to thank the staff for the revised online voting platform, which was both easy and efficient to use."
Upon learning the results of the election, Brownfield thanked the RLI membership for their support, and said, "My goal as your incoming RLI vice president, with our leadership team, is to move RLI in to an organization that provides value added benefits to our members. Your continued input will always be welcome.” As 2010 vice president, Brownfield will ascend to the role of RLI national president in 2012.
Brownfield earned the professional title of Accredited Farm Manager (AFM) in 1970, Accredited Rural Appraiser (ARA) in 1974 and Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) in 2005. During his career, he has worked in farm management and real estate brokerage for Continental Illinois Bank & Trust Company, First National Bank of Peoria, The Northern Trust Bank, Capital Agricultural Property Services, Inc., and currently works at john greene Land Company.
Brownfield is serving on the 2009 RLI Board of Directors as the Legislative Vice Coordinator, and is one of the directors of the Illinois RLI Chapter. He served as president of the American Society of Farm Managers & Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) from 2007-2008.
Says Brownfield, "I am hopeful to visit as many chapters as possible to gather your thoughts and suggestions. You are the heart of what RLI is and what it can be."
