In addition to having contacts at your fingertips in the event app, the hard copy roster distributed at the event is a great takeaway. Take a few minutes at the beginning of the conference when you receive the book to mark down your people of interest. They could be people in your state or region, people you’ve met before, or even ones you’ve heard about and hoped to run into. Then, seek them out at the conference and establish a relationship. Putting a strategy behind your networking can be ten times more effective than just hoping you run into the right person.
