Emily Line is Vice President of Commercial Services for the Realtors Property Resource® (RPR), a wholly owned subsidiary of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR). Emily is passionate about educating on data driven insight and has maintained her academic prowess in Interdisciplinary Research (integrating information, data, techniques, tools, perspectives, concepts, and/or theories to solve problems) throughout her career. She works along the side of Local and State REALTOR® Associations, National Real Estate Companies, Colleges and Universities, as well as a variety of technology companies to explain the role of technology and analytics within the commercial real estate industry.

Internally, Emily collaborates with the RPR Product and Development Team to execute business strategies and technology advancements. Prior to RPR, Emily managed Development and Outreach for the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Division of the NAR, where she provided national legislative updates, delivered timely CRE research and connected REALTOR® members with continuing education opportunities. Emily has been with NAR for ten years. She also serves on the Board of Advisors for CommissionTrac, an Atlanta based company who delivers cloud-computing solutions for CRE commission tracking.

James Murrett

James L. Murrett, MAI, SRA, of Hamburg, New York, is the 2018 president of the Appraisal Institute. He will serve as the immediate past president in 2019, and also will serve on the organization’s Executive Committee and on its policy-setting Board of Directors. Murrett has served on the Appraisal Institute’s national Board of Directors (2011-14), Finance Committee (2012-15) and Strategic Planning Committee (2012-14) in addition to many chapter roles, including as president of the Upstate New York Chapter (2000). He chaired the Finance Committee in 2016. Since 2014 he also has been treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the International Center for Valuation Certification, an affiliate of the Appraisal Institute.

He is an approved Appraisal Institute instructor and a certified Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice instructor by the Appraisal Qualifications Board of The Appraisal Foundation. Murrett has received the 2014 Appraisal Institute Edward W. Adams, SRA, Outstanding Board Service Award and the 2008 President’s Award, which is presented by the Upstate New York Chapter of the Appraisal Institute for ongoing commitment, dedication and service to the chapter and the profession. Since 2009, Murrett has been in management roles with Colliers International Valuation & Advisory Services currently as the executive managing director, Compliance & Quality Assurance, where he is responsible for the general oversight of appraisal quality for Colliers.

Russell W. Riggs is the Government Affairs Liaison for NAR’s Resort Committee and the Senior Regulatory Representative for NAR. For over 15 years, Russell has engaged Congress and federal regulatory agencies, such as the EPA and FEMA, on issues impacting the resort real estate community, as well as issues related to property rights, the environment, natural resources, energy, land use and insurance.

Prior to his position at NAR, Russell held positions with the Department of Energy, the Council of State Governments, the National Governors Association and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. Russell has a Bachelors degree in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Masters in Public Policy from Tufts University, and a Masters in Public Administration from New York University. Russell resides in Falls Church, VA with his wife and two children.

Don Parrish is the Senior Director, Regulatory Relations, for the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Public Policy team in Washington, D.C. His primary area of responsibility at the FB is the Clean Water Act, which encompasses a wide range of issues affecting farmers and ranchers. These include federal authority over waters of the U.S., wetlands, concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs), water quality standards, and conservation issues related to the farm bill (such as swampbuster). Don supports state Farm Bureaus in their legislative and regulatory efforts and works with numerous agricultural organizations, as well as a diverse group of industry and trade associations in Washington D.C.

Gary was raised on a 300 acre farm in Williamson County, TN producing corn, wheat, soybeans, tobacco, straw, lespedeza hay, beef cattle, swine, and truck farming / vegetables. He graduated from MTSU in 1979 with BS degree in Agriculture majoring in Plant and Soil Science. He retired in 2013 with a 37 year career with the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service serving in twelve counties across the state as district conservationist.

Gary recently served a four year position as the Farmland Conservation Director with The Land Trust for TN. He was responsible for protecting farmland with conservation easements on 55 properties for 15,500 acres in 2017. He is now employed as Agriculture Specialist with Foothills Land Conservancy serving all of KY, TN, AL, GA, NC, SC, and VA protecting farms and forests forever from development as the organization, and he is now involved in overseeing 90,000 acres under conservation easements on 190 properties.
