RLI Member Code of Conduct

A code of conduct is a set of principles which guide decision-making and behavior. The purpose of the REALTORS® Land Institute (RLI) Code of Conduct is to provide RLI members with guidelines for making ethical choices in the conduct of their work. Professional integrity is the cornerstone of credibility reflecting high principles and standards of practice. RLI is proud if its members who bring the highest level of integrity to the business of land. As such, RLI members have adopted, and as a condition of membership, adhere to this Code of Conduct. 


The members of the REALTORS® Land Institute are honorable land professionals who recognize the importance of the land to life. RLI members share in the responsibility to conduct themselves with high ethical principles following the RLI Code of Conduct.

RLI Code of Conduct

  1. Protect and promote the best interest of clients.
  2. Display ethical and professional standards.
  3. Avoid exaggeration and misrepresentation of relevant facts.
  4. Treat all parties with honesty, fair-dealing, and good faith.
  5. Stay current in industry knowledge.
  6. Promote the integrity and professionalism of the industry.
  7. Follow all local, state, and national real estate laws, including disclosure laws.
  8. Promote and support the RLI Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policy.
  9. Support, respect, and adhere to the policies of the REALTORS® Land Institute.
