Become an Expert in Conservation Easements

Wednesday, July 24, 2024 | 2 pm Central
No cost to RLI members; $25 for non-members

Are you curious and maybe even confused about these conservation easement things? You may have heard that they make it impossible to sell a property. In this presentation, we will address some common questions and fears that we hear from land brokers about conservation easements and provide you with the information you need to become a trusted guide for your buyers and sellers. Rather than getting that sinking feeling in your stomach when you read that a property has a conservation easement on it, you’ll be able to educate your client base and figure out if that conserved ranch might have potential. In addition, you will learn the benefits of placing a conservation easement on a property which just might give your buyer another option to assist with their investment when buying a property at the top of their price range.

The presentation is led by Ariel Steele of Tax Credit Connection, a 9-year Colorado Chapter RLI member with over two decades of experience working with conservation easements. Don’t miss this chance to demystify conservation easements for yourself and the clients that you serve!

Fast Track Your Way to Becoming a Professional Powerhouse

Originally presented on Thursday, June 6, 2024
Recordings will be available within 3-4 days of the original presentation.

Acronyms are abundant in the professional world, especially in real estate where those letters signify an accreditation or designation. When it comes to land, which letters matter?

If you sell farms and rural properties, the answer might be a power combo from two land organizations: the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) and the REALTORS Land Institute (RLI). Yes, more acronyms!

Land professionals can pursue fast-track paths to earn the designations of each organization - the Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) through RLI and four designations through ASFMRA - the AFM, ARA, RPRA and AAC.

During this webinar, hear from a group of panelists who've used this cross-over of designations to become professional powerhouses. Understand how they leverage the knowledge and connections from each to best serve clients. Plus, know your fast track options for achieving these designations.

Moderator Luke Worrell, ALC, AFM with panelists Ray Brownfield, ALC, AFM, Skye Root, ALC, AAC, AFM and Spencer Smith, ALC, AFM.

Water is a simple commodity, one that all of us use every day. It is absolutely integral to the survival of each and every human being, plant, animal, bird, fish, and insect. However, despite its critical role in our lives, water is little understood.

This webinar seeks to give an overview of how water is measured, filtered, delivered, and used in residential, agricultural, and commercial real estate. We’ll talk about how water is sourced; how it is measured and stored; how water is delivered to its users; and how it is cleaned and returned to the waterways.

Most importantly, we’ll talk about the value of water and how it affects the value of real estate. The goal of this course is to open a dialogue on how water affects our real estate operations, whether agricultural, commercial, or residential, and how to analyze the water resources of a property from the perspective of a proficient land broker.
