2018 LANDU Education Week Recap

The 2018 LANDU Education Week, held June 2-10, 2018, in Arlington, TX, was a record-setting success! Fifty attendees from 14 states gathered to gain top-notch expertise through RLI’s Land University (LANDU) Education Program. A record-setting twenty-one of those students completed all six courses being offered towards the elite Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) Designation. In total, the event boasted over 200 course registrations, also breaking another LANDU Week record.  All three ALC-required courses were held as well as three additional land real estate courses, providing attendees the opportunity to complete all of the education requirements towards the REALTORS® Land Institute’s elite ALC Designation.

All registrations included lunch during the week (June 4-8) compliments of MapRight, Land Broker Co-Op, Capital Farm Credit, and West Texas National Bank. Dinner was held on Thursday evening between classes compliments of United Country Real Estate, and a Networking Night Out on Wednesday, June 6 at the Fort Worth Stock Yards. On Wednesday night, the first stop was a tour of the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame Museum. From there the group proceeded to the Niles City Hall for drinks and cocktails sponsored by Lone Star Ag Credit. After, everyone was invited to join us at the Lonesome Dove Western Bistro for dinner at 7 p.m., again compliments of our sponsors at Lone Star Ag Credit. All transportation was provided from the main hotel for the Wednesday night networking event compliments of our sponsors at Texas Farm Credit.

Here’s What Past LANDU Week Attendees Had To Say

Sandy Corrigan

“The 2017 LANDU Week exceeded my wildest expectations!

The education for the Accredited Land Consultant Designation was like attending a real estate MBA program in nine days. As serving our Corrigan Group clients is our highest priority, this education and training now allows me to bring an even higher and more complete level of expertise and analysis to all real estate including residential, commercial, farm, ranch, and equestrian transactions.

Clients deserve a professional who knows how to gather and assess vital information in order to make wise and sound real estate investments. I would highly recommend this training to any Realtor® that is a serious professional. This was more than worth the time and money invested!”

Mark Skillman, ALC

“I had a wonderful time networking with fellow land practitioners from around the country and made fast friends with many of them as we discovered the commonality we all share in our unique industry.   Moreover, my intellect was definitely challenged as I worked through the course material and gleaned new information to increase my knowledge base, level of proficiency and, hopefully, effectiveness as a land professional. ”

Mark Skillman, ALCAFM Land Sales, LLC
Joy McClinthen

“Ten days away from my business, courses on the weekends, plus the monetary investment -was it worth it? Absolutely! I attended LANDU Week plus because of a recommendation. It was a diverse group of land professionals. Many of the contacts made have become friends.”

Dan Flanagan, ALC

“I had a great week and enjoyed the courses very much.  It was definitely time well spent and I was able to complete educational requirements toward the ALC designation.”

Dan Flanagan, ALCFlanagan Realty, LLC
Drew Ary, ALC

“I have spent a lot of money on continuing my education and I must admit LANDU Week Plus was the most well spent money yet. Not only were the Instructors the best in the business, so were the other students. It was a great week and a wealth of information. I would suggest it to anyone that plans to be in the land business for the long run.”
