RLI Leadership and Staff headed to Boston from November 1-5 to attend the 2018 REALTORS® Conference & Expo. Throughout the event, staff manned a booth and in the NAR Commercial Marketplace to help create awareness in the industry about our organization and designation. RLI President Jeramy Stephens, ALC; RLI President-Elect Kyle Hansen, ALC; and RLI Marketing Manager Jessa Friedrich, MBA, each presented in the NAR Commercial Learning Theater and RLI Member Randy Hertz, ALC, presented a full session on American Farmland: Rooted in Growth during the event to help promote RLI as The Voice of Land in the industry.
On November 1, RLI Members gathered for the annual RLI Member Meeting hosted at the event where they discussed the latest issues affecting members and the land industry, including an update from our very own NAR Legislative Liaison Russell Riggs. Russell discussed the current state of the Farm Bill, the Endangered Species Act, and other legislative issues impacting the land industry. In addition, RLI CEO Aubrie Kobernus, MBA, RCE, joined Jeramy and Kyle in giving an update on the progress that has been made on our 2017-2020 Strategic Plan.
The following evening, RLI Members and invited guests attended the 2018 RLI Officer Induction Ceremony at local hot spot Top of The Hub Restaurant & Lounge. Incoming leadership was inducted, including Jeramy Stephens, ALC, as 2018-19 President; Kyle Hansen, ALC, as 2019 President-Elect; and Renee Harvey, ALC, as 2019 Vice President. Aubrie also thanked the outgoing 2018 leadership as well as RLI’s staff at the ceremony for their dedication and hard work in further establishing RLI as The Voice of Land over the past year. Overall, the event in Boston was a great success, thank you to all who were in attendance!
